This is an extremely fine pair of French Louis XVI-style 3-arm ormolu brass wall lights with richly chased brasswork throughout. They date from the beginning of the 20th century.

Each wall light has a ribbon backplate suspending a midnight-blue enamelled elongated vase, surmounted by vine branches and bunches of grapes. This beautifully ornate vine and grape theme carries on throughout, with more grapes, as well as flowers above the arm height and a bow on top. There is a grape finial at the very bottom.

The 3 acanthus-clasped S arms spring from behind a central classical female mask and fawns to her side. The candle arms terminate in ornamental pans and candle holders.

They have been electrified in our workshop with French candles.

Both the brass casting and chiselling are of a superb quality and would add much elegance to your home.
